I hope you had a wonderful break, and are back well rested and "good to go". There is a lot of work to be finished, and the semester is quickly coming to a close.
For the next three weeks we will be working on the following: 1) learning the basics of the Alice 3D programming language, and completing a programming assignment 2) working on our culminating activities and blogs 3) finishing up any small little odds and ends we haven't completed yet (like our career exploration assignment). The lab will be available at lunch for those who wish to get caught up or work on their culminating.
We will sign up for culminating interviews tomorrow.
Please make sure you have a computer with Alice 2.2 loaded on it and ready to go. If you have to reinstall an operating system, make sure you use Windows 7 Basic or Windows XP SP3.
If you get lost, need further explanation, or just want to progress farther than we ware going to in this course, feel free to check out this site as an excellent source of tutorials, hints and ideas.
We will be using a series of PowerPoints to guide our learning over the next few classes.(feel free to download copies and use them for review and reference). You will also need this rubric before you submit your program for evaluation. We are going to start with this scavenger hunt to familiarize ourself with the interface. You may work in partners if you wish. There are prizes! :)
Today, if there is time, we are going to start learning about movement and placement in the Alice3D environment.
This will be the on-line binder for TEJ3/4MI
