Oh Snow! Another Day Lost

Another snow day (ugh!).  We have lost a lot of time, and have to cover all the basics before we can move on to the more complicated concepts (and for most of you, the "fun stuff").

You will need to do this web-quest (the blue hyper-links will take you to the sources you need).  Due Monday.

I also need you to complete a rough draft of your One Big Project proposal.  As soon as it is cleaned up and approved by me, it will be sent home for your parent's signature.  Remember that this project is your opportunity to explore aspects of the course that you are interested in, and has been stated before does not have to cost you $1.

Hard At Work

Before we climb back into the insides of our stripped computers, we are going to firm up all our plans for the Emerging Technologies assignment that we briefly looked at yesterday.  Remember, you may work in partners if you wish.  You will also need to download this reading and this rubric .

Culminating Task

It is also not too early to start thinking about your culminating project. As we talked about in class, I want to be able to support you in any direction  that you would like to go in re: your own self-directed learning.  We will learn  many fundamentals in class, but it's during the culminating activity that you  can truly push yourself to explore your interests.

A good place to start for  unbelievably cool ideas is Instructables.  Chocked full of absolute awesomeness!

Remember, the culminating activity is NOT about the $$ spent, but rather the challenge and the process.
