Fifty-five years ago, hard drives were only something you found in research
labs. They were very expensive pieces of cutting edge technology. As the world
rebounds from the flooding in Thailand that has hampered hard drive production
world wide (but this might be the big push that people need to switch to SSDs?),
I thought you'd enjoy this photo I tripped across on the internet of a 5mb hard
drive from 1956.
