Life Long Learning Takes Initiative
in·i·ti·a·tive
noun
1. an introductory act or step; leading action
2. readiness and ability in initiating action; enterprise:
3. one's personal, responsible decision
As an educator, I owe it to both myself and my students to constantly evolve my teaching methods, and to look for new ways to meet their needs in environments that are comfortable, enriching, and which prepare them for the future. I always challenge myself to take on new responsibilities, explore new avenues and opportunities, and to make sure that my classroom is a place that students feel safe, welcome and engaged.
I sit on several Professional Development initiatives with the Bluewater Board of Education, mainly in the areas of Digital Learning and Curriculum, and am presently trying to develop a classroom were content and evaluation are 100% digitally delivered and evaluated.
