These are some of the haikus that were completed in class yesterday. If you don't see yours in the rotation, please make sure that you resend it as a .jpg (more than a few of you forgot to change the format and sent me a .psd).

![]() Wow! The break seemed to fly by. I hope all of you had a great holiday, and you have recharged your batteries and are ready for the "big push" ahead. We have a Poetry unit to finish (w/ an assignment), a lot of grammar rules to review and practice, a culminating essay to work through, and an exam to prepare for (which will take place on Monday moring, January 28th). As always, I am available most lunch hours for extra help (usually I am in Room 110). Today we are going to take a look at Haiku poetry, and make our best attempts at working with this ancient art form. We will be using Adobe Photoshope Elements to enhance our work (so please make sure you are logged in at the start of the period and ready to work.) We will get our minds back in the game by working on a 5 line poem. Please complete this exercise during the first ten minutes of class. ![]() I know all of you have been eagerly waiting for the Poetry Summative Assignment rubric....well, wait no longer...it can be found here. Your completed portfolio will be due no later than Wednesday, January 16th. |
