It has been almost two months since we have seen each other. I know learning from home can be tough, but we need to carry on. The skills you learn in Grade 9 help prepare you for the rest of your high school career.
This week's lesson is shorter because a few of you are still working on the website (and that's fine!).
This week we are going to look at what is happening to the Oil Industry, and use the information to prepare for next year's Literacy test. The ability to analyze text and graphics, and prepare well structured and supported responses, is one of the biggest parts of the test (and it's also a good skill to have for life in general :) ).
When you read this information make sure you keep testing yourself to see if you understand what is being presented. There are many clues, and supporting pieces (such as definitions) to help you. Try and predict what questions they are going to ask you before you even read the questions. Make sure you back up your thoughts with relevant examples from the text. Just don't "say it". Prove it!
