So MANY IDEAS, SO LITTLE TIME

We will start today by rewriting a version of the quiz that you were given on Tuesday.  Remember, we practice content mastery in this class, so you will rewrite until you can demonstrate an understanding of basic computer literacy terminology.

We are going to finish up our first mini-unit by looking at WANs and LANs and the role that software plays in computer systems.  Please download both of the handouts.  We will use the WAN/LAN chart to organize our learning during a class discussion, and the exploration of software is to be done by yourself.

Finishing Up OUR COMPUTER INTRO ACTIVITY

Today we will finish up our brief lecture on the computer system basics, and put our systems back together.  Make sure all your cables are connected, and see me BEFORE you turn your computer on (we don't want any sparks! lol).   We will have a brief quiz on the content on Tuesday.  It would be a good idea to look over  your notes on the weekend, and ask me any questions on Monday.

This video, even though it is a little dated, is a good review of what we looked at this week.

Day Two: Computer Literacy

We are going to spend the next few days looking at the components that make up a computer system.  This is a fundamental part of building your computer literacy.

After we do a little course "house keeping" (finding you a seat, logging you in, etc) we are going to look over this pre-test.  After we are done, grab a partner, a Phillip's screw driver and a computer.  We are about to tear it apart!  Remember...you have to put it back together ;) (and it has to work).
