Chroma keying is a special effects post-production technique that we are going to spend the next few weeks working on. You will be using Premiere to delete a colour range in the top layer to reveal an image behind. While this technique can be used using backgrounds of any colour that are uniform and distinct, green and blue backgrounds are used because they differ most distinctly in hue from most skin colours. That said, you also need to remember not to wear a green shirt (or anything close) the day that you are filming!
Your assignment for this section can be found here. We are going to look at some of the really cool and inventive effects that have happened in movies during the past 40 years.
