Eventhough buses were cancelled today, it does not mean that the learning has to stop. AWE3MI students are reminded of the mastery learning test tomorrow on yearbook terminology. Failure to score 80% will result in a rewrite. This would also be a perfect day for the AWE4MI students to work on some paper sketch designs of possible yearbook pages. Tomorrow, you will be asked to sign up for at least 6 pages (with appreciation to those students who take on even more responsibility).

Back...and in time for ice cream! I am really looking forward to the AWE4MI Chapman's marketing presentations today. My spoon and bowl are all ready to go! AWE3MI students will be acting as Board members and providing feedback on your presentations and flavours.
With any time that is left, the AWE3MI students and I will move forward with learning InDesign (make sure you take notes..and practice!), and the AWE4MI students can work on their points (we will be talking "yearbook" tomorrow, so be ready!). I am away today at the Software Selection Committee meeting at the Board Office. As we spoke about on Friday, my expectations are that you will use this period to accomplish the following:
AWE3MI 1) Finish up your virtual postcard. 2) Work on the Rick Mercer Assignment (this will be evaluated). Take the time to research the target of the week, figure out who they are, what they do, and why they are in the news. Try to make a relevant comment (appropriate humour is always encouraged) using your photoshop skills. I will look at these tomorrow, and the ones that are deemed acceptable (which should be all of them), will be sent off to the CBC 3) Signed parental contracts tomorrow please. AWE4MI Work on your Chapman's assignment. Make sure you are looking up the relevant information (trends in flavours, demographics, etc) to support your new marketing campaign. I look forward to tasting your yummy creations. |
